JAMES R. JONES

James R. Jones has been practicing law for over twenty years. He attended the University of Pittsburgh for two years and graduated from the University of Houston in 1983 with a B.A. in Political Science. After graduating from South Texas College of Law in 1986, he began practicing civil and appellate litigation in such diverse areas of law as commercial law, personal injury, Jones Act, family law, products liability, wrongful death, insurance, bankruptcy and many others. He has extensive trial experience in state and Federal court, representing individuals and business clients on both sides of the docket.

He has appeared and argued before the First and Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston and the Dallas Court of Appeals. He succeeded in overturning two lower court decisions denying his injured client a hearing in an appeal before the Texas Supreme Court. In representing individual clients before the appellate courts, he prevailed in a number of cases that changed Texas law, such as the elimination of the family member exclusion in automobile insurance policies. This ended the practice of insurance companies denying claims by relying on this provision. Mr. Jones is ready to assist you with any and all of your legal needs. Please contact him today for a consultation.
