Sarita Garg is a seasoned Immigration Attorney who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Having gone through the Immigration process herself, Sarita Garg understands how important it is to have the proper documentation, and submitting properly completed Immigration applications. Sarita Garg, as well as the other Immigration Attorneys at Smith & Garg, has the expertise required to prepare various types of Immigration filings and applications in a manner that United States Immigration requires. In addition to Immigration Law, Sarita Garg also has over five years of experience with many different practice areas such as Family Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, Personal Injury, and Tax Law.
After receiving her undergraduate degree, completing a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology, she moved to the Midwest of the United States to attend law school at Ohio Northern University. During her tenure at Ohio Northern, she concentrated on mediation and arbitration, and represented clients in misdemeanor offenses, traffic trials, and temporary protection order hearings, under a third year bar card at the Public Prosecutor's Office. She also conducted extensive legal research on state and federal bad faith insurance topics, focusing on unfair settlement of claims, bad faith insurance claims, and misrepresentations made by various well known insurance companies.
Upon graduating from law school, Sarita Garg immediately began working in the area of Immigration. She worked on TN Visas, F-1 Student Visas, H-1B Visas, Employer-based and Family-based Permanent/Green Card applications, and Citizenship applications for clients that were immigrating from various countries, such as India, Pakistan, Dubai, China, Japan, etc. After becoming licensed in the state of Texas, she worked at a national tax advisory firm, which specialized in providing government tax sponsored incentives to companies throughout the United States.
Sarita Garg is of Indian origin, and thus can speak Indian languages, such as Hindi, Bengali, and Punjabi. She continues to be involved in the South Asian community and other South Asian charitable organizations. Sarita Garg is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyer's Association, and the Houston Bar Association.
