What is the difference between “Change of Status” and “Adjustment of Status”?
A “change of status” refers from an alien’s change from one non-immigrant category to another (for example, L-1 to H-1B); while “adjustment of status” is the process by which an alien “adjusts” from being in a non-immigrant category (F-1, L-1, H-1B, etc.) to obtaining permanent residency (the “green card”). Please see our section on Adjustment of Status, or Contact our Westchase Immigration Attorneys for more information regarding this process.
